Slow moving rail train at Romney, Nortonville, Ky
Rail trains tend to move pretty slow, and this shot of CSXT 5413 leading J055 as it heads north on the CSX Henderson Subdivision on March 30th, 2021 was no exception! They had been working on dropping rail in curves for most of the morning and here theyre passing through the location known as Romney, which is just south of Nortonville, Ky.
Their next and final drop location was the curve just south of the crossovers from main 1 to main 2 at Nortonville before they moved their train to Hanson, Ky and tied it down for the night. Later in the year therell be track crews that will come along and replace rails in the curves where the trains have worn the existing rails in the curves.
