Description
Southbound hot intermodal at Mortons Junction
The stillness of the quiet morning fog is broken as the roar of the engines begin to pull up the rise to Mortons Junction with CSXT 3241 leading CSX Q025 as they head south on the Henderson Subdivision at Mortons Gap, Kentucky.
This is the second of four hot intermodals that run up and down the Henderson Subdivision on a daily basis carrying their containers filled with cargo between Jacksonville, Florida and Chicago, Illinois. Going south in the mornings, at Mortons Junction, we have Q029 and Q025 that usually pass through between 9-11am and then their counterparts Q028 & Q026 in the afternoon between 2-4pm.
When any of these trains are in the neighborhood, you can bet you'll find other trains and crews sitting in the sidings, waiting to let them fly on past!!
Tech Info: Nikon D800, RAW, Sigma 150-600 with a 1.4TC @850mm f/9, 1/1250, ISO 2000.
